Dr. Paola Arboleda-Ríos is the Graduate Director for the Department of Hispanic Studies at the College of Liberal Arts & Social Studies, University of Houston. Her research interests include literary translation, women’s literature and cinema in Latin America as well as feminist, gender and queer theories. She completed her Ph.D. in Spanish and Portuguese Studies at the University of Florida where she concentrated on Latin American literature, specifically, she found and studied the very few autobiographies that exist of LGTB people in the region.

La Dra. Paola Arboleda-Ríos es la Directora de Estudios de Posgrado del Departamento de Estudios Hispánicos del College of Liberal Arts & Social Studies en la Universidad de Houston. Sus áreas de investigación incluyen la traducción literaria, la literatura y el cine de mujeres en América Latina, así como las teorías feministas, de género y queer. Obtuvo su doctorado en Estudios de Español y Portugués en la Universidad de Florida, donde se especializó en literatura latinoamericana, específicamente en la búsqueda y estudio de las pocas autobiografías existentes de personas LGTB en la región.
